Clinicians can turbocharge the effectiveness of food as medicine initiatives by helping patients recognize the potency of dietary interventions and by making strategic referrals. Nevertheless, health professionals have historically not received the nutrition education required to fully assume this role. Dr. Devries spoke at the Harvard Club to a group of medical school educators on the topic “Medical School is Only the Beginning: The Arc of Nutrition Education in Medical Training.”
Doctors and nurses came together for an innovative hands-on continuing education conference in Chicago presented by the Gaples Institute and led by Executive Director, Dr. Stephen Devries. Participants learned nutrition science from thought leaders in medicine and immersed in hands-on preparation of healthy foods.
