Northwestern Culinary Medicine: Eat Your Way to Better Blood Pressure

As part of Northwestern Medicine’s series of Culinary Medicine workshops for the public, Dr. Devries was featured in an event focusing on preventing hypertension through better nutrition. His presentation, “Eat Your Way to Better Blood Pressure,” included evidence of how quickly dietary changes can lower blood pressure, practical tips for reducing sodium, and the Gaples Institute’s interactive guide to accurate blood pressure readings.

Medical College of Wisconsin: Cardiology Grand Rounds

Cardiometabolic Health Conference

Dr. Devries, Executive Director of the Gaples Institute, presented a plenary session entitled “Nutrition Beats Attrition: The Low-Hanging Fruit for Cardiometabolic Health.”

More than 1,300 health professionals attend this conference each year, with talks from national leaders in lifestyle medicine, as well as experts in pharmacologic advances for the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic disorders.
